Half-day Sitting – Resolution and Vow, led by So On Jim Hare

01/05/2019 @ 8:30 am - 12:30 pm

Voramai Kabilsingh was the first Thai woman to receive full ordination and take the accompanying 311 precepts. Someone asked her, “How do you keep 311 precepts?”  Rev. Kabilsingh answered, “I only keep one precept. I just watch my mind.”

Whether we keep one precept or 311, precepts are markers of our deep intention to live and practice for the benefit of all beings. On this first Saturday of the New Year, we will take the opportunity to consider this intention with a half-day of sitting and walking meditation and a short Dharma talk by Rev. So On Jim Hare.

Registration is $15. Scholarships are available. To inquire, send a message to info@valleystreamszen.org

  • Please bring a bag lunch if you would like to join us for a social lunch after the formal program.
  • If this is your first time practicing with us or your first half-day sitting, please call Jim at 916-456-7752 so you can learn more about the day.

Register on Eventbrite – or sign up on a Monday evening.
