Great American River Clean Up – Sept. 17

Once again Valley Streams Zen Sangha will participate in the Great American River Clean-up along the banks of the Parkway, at Northgate Blvd. and Hwy. 160 in Sacramento. We will be collecting trash in a section of the parkway that is especially impacted by homeless campers.
When: Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016  8:45 am – 12 pm
Where: 1400 Northgate Blvd. & Highway 160 – From Downtown – Take 16th St. to N. Sacramento Fwy; Keep right for Northgate Blvd. Turn right and follow Northgate into the Parkway access. From I-80 – Take exit 86 CA-99/I-5 S. After 1.5 miles, take exit 521 for Garden Highway. Turn left onto Garden Highway. After 1.7 miles, turn right onto Northgate Blvd.
What to bring: Work gloves, water bottle, trash-grabber and small rake if you have them.
What to wear: Sneakers or closed toe shoes, a hat, sunglasses and sun screen.
Lunch: Share a potluck picnic after our work is done at near-by Camp Pollock. Cold drinks will be provided.
