Dharma Talk by Jisan Tova Green (Hybrid, Speaker in Person)
Jisan Tova Green, she/her, was ordained in 2003 and received Dharma transmission from Eijun Linda Cutts in 2015. During her twenty-four years as a resident of San Francisco Zen Center, she served as Branching Streams Director, supporting and connecting more than seventy-five sanghas in the Suzuki Roshi lineage. She co-founded, and co-leads SFZC’s Queer Dharma group. In addition, Tova has worked as a hospice social worker and priest. She enjoys reading and writing poetry and playing the cello.
Our Monday night programs begin with zazen (sitting meditation) followed by a devotional service and dharma talk, group discussion, or practice circle. There are no membership requirements to participate. We invite donations to support the room rental, visits by teachers, and other sangha activities. Valley Streams Zen Sangha is dedicated to the study of Buddha’s teaching and the practice of meditation. We invite newcomers and experienced Zen students to join us. If this is your first visit please arrive at least 15 minutes early for a brief orientation.
